Following the rapid development of Internet, many kinds of digital network access products have become the main tool that deals with information on Internet. A tremendous industry full of commercial chance is emerging step by step.Research and development of unified broadband access controller, one of China Next Generation Internet projects is hold by high performance network lab of Acoustics Institute of Chinese Academy of Science. The controller integrates the wire and wireless access way, then realizes the seamless intergration between different access network and core internetwork. For the sake of multi-access way and technology in the network access level, different user can share the same core internetworking resource, not only provides the common experience of using network, but decreases the investment of telecom provider sharply in the field of access network, especially the investment on operating and management.Synthetical knowledge is important for the research and development on broadband access controller. First of all, this article introduces the technology background of China Next Generation Internet, and its existing problems. Then describes the basic technology and structure of broadband access controller, including software and hardware platform. This development chooses the IXP2400 network processor of Intel corporation and its SDK suite, it's necessary to comprehend suite meticulously, so we can develop application more forward.The research key of this article is the design and implementation of block technology of broadband access controller, including the design of block struct, block address planning and block index arithmetic. Then describe the basic design concept of block core component, and provide the interface of block core component. Using SDK suite as the tool of developing application, it will be the reference for the resemble application in the design and implementation of block technology.In the total design of interface core component, the relationship of calling plays an important role. On the base of software and hardware environment, apply the way of embedded application developing, understand the relationship correctly, then the aim will be reached.In the end, this dissertation concludes the shortage in our research work on developing interface core component. Apart from this, the dissertation also brings forward some aspects that need improving in future work. Simultaneity, it supposes the fine prospect about block technology.
