Wearable computers (WearComps) are minitype personal mobile computers which can realize the inextricable intertwine and synergy between human and computer. Due to its features and characteristics, higher requirements are proposed in many aspects, including power consumption, volume and structure, etc. On the condition of the limitation of battery capacities, the research on power of WearComps becomes more and more important. Although some achievements have been made in this regard, the research and design of low-power WearComps still remains a task full of challenge. This thesis, being parts of the subject construction and the former researches of the 863 program, aims at designing two different samples, one is MCC-I with the structure of X86, the other is a professional wearcomp with the structure of ARM.According to different requirements and features of these two WearComps, Transmeta processor with X86 and PXA270 processor with XScale are selected respectively in order to discuss about the low-power design which could offer some guidelines for the later designs.MCC-I WearComp is designed on the basis of core module board (CMB). This thesis, centering on CMB, mainly discusses about the design of Interface PCB,extend PCB,power system, interface and wire and cable with the purpose of establishing a complete system of the common WearComp. After the establishment, a series of testaments in power, temperature and functions are successfully carried out. The result says that this sample fits the anticipation. In this thesis, the hardware design of the WearComp with ARM structure, including the circuit design of DC/DC,Memory,BUS Driver,Reset,JTAG,Audio,Vedio,USB,IrDA and Lan, is carried out. By combing with the high-speed signal PCB design rules, this thesis successfully finish the PCB design. Finally, the power of the whole computer is generally estimated according to the selected apparatuses and circuit structure. This thesis offers some technical guidelines, ways of design and schemes of realization for the research and design of WearComps and lays solid foundation for the application of 863 project and the later research.
