Pxa270-based Embedded Computer Design

With the development of Internet and the coming of the post-PC era, the embedded systems is becoming the center of interest in the IT industry and exhibiting broad potential market. The application areas and complexity of the embedded systems are growing rapidly. Contracted to the general computer systems, the embedded systems have some special characters: numerous variety, limited resources, and hardware/software co-operation, which make the embedded system development more difficult and less efficient.ARM is the leading provider of 32-bit embedded RISC microprocessors. ARM offers a wide range of processor cores and delivering high performance together with low power consumption and system cost, high performance and specific THUMB instrument set. Embedded system development, which is based on ARM series processor and Windows CE operating system, is a researching focus in the embedded field.This dissertation discusses the development method of Intel PXA270 processor and Windows CE.net system, gives a design scheme of embedded central circuit and periphery circuit, and shows the method of porting operating system and writing drivers. According to these theories in this dissertation, an embedded computer can be designed in the end.Hardware is the base of embedded computer. This dissertation discusses the hardware design method of PXA270 and periphery circuit, draws the schematics, analyses the design method of high speed multilayer PCB, and gives some important points of the pivotal module design.Software is the spirit of embedded computer. This dissertation discusses the study method of portable Windows CE. net operating system. Particularl, describes custom kernel of Windows CE.net operation system as embedded system. Sequentially, combining writer's project practic, and describes how to write drivers for the hardware such as SRAM and IC card.
