With the occurrence of FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array), because of itsadvantages, such as high density, small size, in-circuit programmable and shortdevelopment cycle, FPGA is more and more available in data acquisition and processingsystem.First, the data acquisition and processing system with the present condition, existentproblem and development trend are introduced in this paper. This data processing andtransmission system uses Altera Corporation's FPGA as the central processor. It iscomposed of data acquisition module, asynchronous FIFO module, DMA control module,FFT processing module and bus PC104 module. The analog signal is captured and thenconverted to the digital signal by AD processor AD1672. Digital signal is sent to theasynchronous FIFO buffer, and then to FFT processing module to do FFT. After beingprocessed by FFT, the data in FIFO can transmit to bus PC104 using DMA mode. All thesystem is made in the form of extended card, which can be plugged into PC104 slot.On the software side, the overall design of the software is planned from the systemfunctions realizing point of view. The choice of modularization design method makes eachpart of software and hardware realize and adjust more easily. The system design and theimplementation key problem are analyzed deeply in this paper. After system analysis, chipchoice, software and hardware design and program debugging, the overall system isimplemented, and the anticipated goal is achieved.
