Research And Implementation Of Virtual Reality Roaming System

As the rapid development of computer and web technologies, the traditional displayfunction, such as2-dimentional pictures and3-dimentional animation, cannot meet the modernexhibition demands. Virtual reality technology, which gains more and more attention andapplies in all kinds of fields to display the scene of nature and arts, could do some help for thisproblem. Virtual scene roaming as one of the essential application in virtual reality has afabulous prospect. In this dissertation, application design is based on VRML (Virtual RealityModeling Language). Through the verisimilar scene model, natural interactivity and timelyresponse, application of VR technology in virtual scene roaming has been researched.In this study, VRML and its related knowledge as well as its architecture has beenintroduced in detail. Then research pays more attention to the key technology in3-dimentionalmodeling, analyze and study are especially in scene model rendering method andoptimizations.3DS MAX and VRML has been chosen to establish the virtual scene interspaces. Thisapplication brings Image-base rendering method into virtual scene roaming, in doing this, theuser experience and system instantaneity will be enhanced. And then, this design applied X3Dtechnology in virtual scene modeling process, which also extended the model built by VRML.At the end, using Web service to put the system onto the internet, users can run over thesystem from Web browsers.The system’s virtual scene which improved by X3D has many advantages. It has finedisplay effects and strong expansibility. The online virtual scene roaming system could easilyinteract with users. The user can go around in the system according to them own will. Thepowerful functions and continuous increased new components of X3D technology is going topromote the application of Web based virtual reality to a higher state.
