Equipment inspect tour is very important for the safety in production and the improvement of the management activities in an enterprise. To overcome the deficiencies of traditional patrol system and increase the convenience and availability of inspection tour and enhance the management of the facilities, the paper analyzes the demands and purposes of the inspect tour system, then presents a solution to inspection system, and develops a networked inspection tour system. The main contents of the thesis are as fellows:1. The main architecture of inspect tour system is presented. The system consists of anterior hand-held patrol device and inspection management system. Inspecting on schedule is the main task of the hand-held patrol device, and the inspection information can be analyzed, managed and accessed from the inspection management system.2. The hardware platform of the portable patrol device is established. The development of the hardware system of the portable patrol device is mainly based on a quick development platform i.e. X-HYPER255 Development Platform for embedded system. It is mainly composed of a data acquisition board, a motherboard, a liquid crystal display and a touchscreen. To improve sampling efficiency, double CPU structure is adopted, i.e. the motherboard has a processor and the data acquisition board as well. The communication between the two boards is serial communication. This hardware system uses touchscreen as its input device and uses liquid crystal display as its output device, which make the operation of the portable patrol instrument convenient and can greatly reduce the size and decrease the weight. In order to reduce the power consumption, the liquid crystal display can power off automatically.3. The running platform for the portable patrol device software is established according to the hardware platform. The software system uses embedded linux as its operating system and uses MiniGUI graphic system as the GUI of the embedded system. The work contains loading Bootloader and transplanting Linux kernel, the file system and MiniGUI. Then the equipment inspect software is developed with the standand c program language under Linux. It is mainly composed of system management model, insepct model, inspect tour model, recalling model and tranportion model. In order to analyze the signals on-site immediately, the common methods of signal analysis in both time domain and frequency domain are provided. In addition, the number soft keyboard is provided for inputting and correcting number. In the end, the inspect tour software is cross compiled and transplanted.4. The networked realization of inspect tour system is competed. The network architecture between the portable patrol device and the sever computer is C/S mode, so the communication of them is realized. And the server adopts the B/S network architecture, so the inspection information and results can be accessed on the internet. Finally, the management mode of inspection is analyzed and discussed.The portable patrol instrument incorporates many functions in a unit, including data acquisition, storage, analysis, retrospection and communication, etc. and it is characterized by structure compactness, light weight, easy portability and simple operation. It both can analyze the signals on-site in both time domain and frequency domain in time, and it also can upload the patrol data to the server. It can inspect independently because of having analysis function. The inspection management system can analyze and diagnose the inspection data by some means, and the results can be reported in report forms, in addition, the inspection information and results also can be accessed through the Web, which means it can be accessed from distance.
