With the development of the up-to-date industry and technology, the electric machines are becoming more and more large, continuous, high-speed, precise, systematic and automatic. And those changes have made the scale of production becoming more and more big, increasing the function of the production, improving the capability of it and making the structure of the product become more and more complex, as well as the economic loss caused by fault of machine becomes very huge. Using the online monitoring and fault diagnosis technology can discover the early fault, and then it can avoid the economic loss caused by fateful fault, and all these showed that the condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of machine is necessary of modern industry.In the field of the design and realization of online condition monitoring and fault diagnosis system, the capability of the embedded system has greatly improved by the new technology. For the powerful capability and the high reliability of embedded system, which is also good at the power consuming and the size, it is trend in the application of control system using modern electric devices. Especially it is very important to use the embedded operation system (ROTS)in many applications.In this paper the using of MiniGUI in the fault diagnosis system is proposed, which shows the fault waves and the interfaces between the system and the user. Such application can make the fault diagnosis system smaller and easier to use. The system is composed of two main parts: the upper layer is application program of MiniGUI, and the bottom layer is uClinux operation system. The bottom layer is operation system, which is uClinux, and it is a Linux likely system, which is widely used in the application of embedded system. MiniGUI is widely applied in many industry control system, which is an embedded graphic support system.The organization of embedded system is put forward firstly, and then analyses the difference between the uClinux operation system and the general platform operation system in detail. After introducing and analyzing the difference of some kind of embedded graphic systems, It depicted the porting of uClinux and how to porting MiniGUI to uClinux operation system. Lastly with comparing many different fault diagnosis methods, the display platform of fault diagnosis have been chosen, which based on MiniGUI graphic user interface. It adopts the high reliable hardwand&software and communication by URAT. The hardware is built on Samsung S3C44B0X which is an ARM architecture RISC CPU. The software integrated the MiniGUI graphic user interface and uClinux operation system, and the application program of MiniGUI has been developed based on uClinux operation system. With the matching of hardware and software, the embedded system has the characteristic of high capability, good stabilization, easyto upgrade and maintain.This paper focus on the design and application of software, which is including the porting of uClinux and the cross compile of application graphic user interface of MiniGUI. It wins good effect which applies the basic theory of fault diagnosis to the technology field. Such embedded system has the practice value.
