Da-Qin Railway, which is the most important transmission line dedicated for coal transportation, carried more than 200,000,000 tons of coal in 2005. It is proposed to carry 250,000,000 tons of coal in 2006, and 400,000,000 tons even more in the future. This will be a miracle in the history of China's railway development. Meanwhile, it is a big challenge.It's confirmed that the carrying capacity of Da-Qin Railway is limited under the former technical conditions and transportation mode. To make great progress of China's railway development and expand the carrying capacity of Da-Qin Railway, technical improvement an innovation is absolutely necessary. The LOCOTROL system based on GSM-R network, which can meet the requirement of diversified transportation mode, is unlimited by the length of train or conditions of landform. This system has turned into running-in with the marshalling mode of 2 × 10000t since Mar.2006. System reliability and stability is highly demanded while increasing the running frequency of 2 × 10000t train. The existing GSM-R network has realized BSS redundancy and double coverage. Similarly, the GSM-R core network and AN also requires redundancy. This requirement has been proposed by Taiyuan Railway Department, Shanxi Tietong and BJTU earlier this year. This paper puts forward the solvent of GSM-R core network and AN redundancy, and the corresponding system running policy.Chapter one describes the development of GSM-R, and the summary of LOCOTROL system based on GSM-R network. Chapter two introduces the structure of GSM-R network, the basic theory of its data transmission and data transmission flow. Chapter three presents the details of LOCOTROL system based on GSM-R network and the actuality of LOCOTROL system on Da-Qin Railway. Chapter four puts forward the solvent of GSM-R core network and AN redundancy, and the corresponding system running policy. Chapter five concludes the thesis and points out the fields for further study.
