Including advanced video compression and Internet interface, embedded network video monitoring system is the newest monitoring device. Via Internet, remote user can visit the system to get real-time video and audio information, receive emergency information, control the vidicon and also adjust the quality of video at any time any place. The system possesses the quality of high stability and dependability, is now used in many areas such as traffic, bank, telecom, smart home, etc.Based on the deep analysis of system's function, we selected high-powered multimedia chip TMS320DM64x as the processor of the system. This processor has powerful processing ability and abundant peripherals, thus is the perfect solving scheme of embedded network video monitoring system.The author firstly introduced the history of the video monitoring system, analyzed the characteristic and key technologies of the system. Based on the research of embedded system, the author made a comparison of several schemes and put forward the solving scheme for the system. Then, analyzed and designed the main functional modules of the system in details, including video interface, audio interface, Internet interface, memory extension, RS485 communication and emergency information input, I~2C bus control, boot and power supply, etc. After finishing schematic circuit, the author made a deep research of the signal integrity in the design of highspeed system and adopted HyperLynx and IBIS model to analyze and simulate the key parts of the system. Then, finished the PCB design of the system based on the simulation thus constructed a dependable system hardware platform. At last, the author introduced the software developing environment and flow, and designed the functional modules of the system.
