With the rapid development of information technology and economic globalization, the huge variety has happened in the market structure and the competition method etc. of the enterprise. Therefore, in our days when the computer network has developed rapidly, we must reform the traditional management model. This means we must build on system thinking, using the systematic method and the systematic management. ERP and MES are two important systems in manufacturing informatization. ERP is a management platform which is based on the information technology, and provides the decision-making for manager layer of the enterprise with the systematical management thinking. It is mainly aiming at the resources plan, dealing with the history analysis and predicts the affairs which will take place in the future. But it is lack of enough control about the information of the shop-floor performance layer, and can't handle the real-time event in time; MES which stands at between the plan layer and the shop-floor layer is a performance layer, it is mainly responsible for the production management and scheduling execution, and carries out real-time information management, provides real-time information for the system, and guides the production operation process of the factory availably, whereas, it is lack of the valid decision information of the plan layer. From enterprise operating perspective, both of them is complementarily and dependence one another; ERP provides required plan information for MES; at the same time, MES also provides real-time data in product locale. In addition, MES, ERP and other information systems live together and self-independence, which causes the enterprise data information to exist in the different system, and results in repetition of the same type data information and even inconformity of part data. All of the factors will influence enterprise production. So, the objective of this thesis is to build up a reasonable and valid integrated information model between MES and ERP, carry out information integration between both sides, and attain integrated shares.Firstly, analyze the related theories and technologies of MES, ERP and system integration, and made analysis and research for MES and ERP aiming at discrete manufacturing industry. Secondly, according to the data repeat and function superposition of MES and ERP in business enterprise production and management, this paper studied the relationship between ERP and MES and the necessity of ERP/MES integration. Thirdly,making use of the technique and theories of system integration, this paper made analysis on contents and process of the MES/ERP integrated system. At the same time, this paper discussed the theories and methods of production plan and control under the MES/ ERP integration environment and built up the related system process. In the end, the paper has finished the design and realization of MES, in order to research on system integration of MES and SUDA ERP.
