Presently, the construction of information in manufacture gradually changes from signal-system application to integrated-system. The traditional model with data integration by point-to-point way is no longer suitable for the requirement that the information in manufacture should be obtained from complicated and multi- integration system. The products in foreign countries are powerful, but the usage with high cost is unbearable for domestic manufacturing enterprises that are small and medium-sized discrete. There are lots of similar products with own-integrated platform in domestic areas. However, the system platform which integrates CAX/PDM/ERP and face the discrete manufacturing industry is not fully researched. So the research for this system platform is important to improve the level of information technology in discrete manufacture.The development and present situation of Data Integration Platform (DIP) are analyzed in this paper. The difficulty which restrains DIP is elaborated. The importance and significance of DIP in discrete manufacturing are demonstrated. The way of integrating the heterogeneous data is studied.A model which bases on the XML and can exchange data is put forward.The model has a high degree of versatility and scalability. The mapping between XML and related database and the way of integrating the heterogeneous data are also studied. Different modes of data integration are also comparated. .A structure basing on the CORBA with distributed systems integration is given. It is used as the guiding criteria to develop integration system. The CORBA-based integration systm not only enables transparent heterogeneous data access but also has a good maintainability and scalability.As basing on the above model and structure for developing integration system,the thesis takes softwares CAX,PDM and ERP as an example to analyze the demand for integrating data and the structure of data, discusses the way for exchanging information between XML and integrating data. A system integrating CAX/PDM/ERP which bases on the data-bus of XML is developed through the some key-technology such as adapters, database access and systems security and so on. The system can complete the integration and share the data which is among CAX,PDM and ERP. Finally, through the use of CAXA/MITPDM data integration and Solidworks/MITPDM data integration to display XML-based data bus for data integration processes,and verify the feasibility and the availability of the data integration platform.
