At present, the research of virtual reality and its application development is a research hotspot in computer field, and building a virtual reality system based on Vega/VP is one of the most widely used and advanced methods for simulation of the virtual reality system. This dissertation introduces the basic principles and analysis the characteristics of virtual reality systems based on Vega/VP, describes how to use the main tools and key techniques to realize a virtual reality system, such modeling tools as Creator, application structure document ACF generating tool as Vega/VP, and application programming tool as Visual C++. It mainly introduces the virtual reality technique’s development process for3D scene simulation based on Vega/VP and Creator. Some major features and key techniques in Creator and Vega/VP were emphasized, as well as the cooperative uses of each kind of developing tools.This dissertation finally describes three simple simulation models of virtual reality system based on the Vega/VP, including the scene simulation of the tornado, of the steamboat in marine, and of the moving tanks. By the three simple application simulation models, illustrates the basic ideas and design methods of virtual reality technique based on the Vega/VP. As the simulation exemples presents, the virtual reality system models for simulation of complicated3D scenes or natural scenes can be built by the virtual reality technology base on Vega/VP and Creator. The system generated realistic images, and can be controlled and roamed in real-time.
