In thenumerous project according for Metro Networks, the telecom equipment manufactureand carriers are interested in Muti-Service Transport Platform, because it possespredominant Qos capability and Support Muti-Service especially data service. MSTPdevelop rapidly in these years and it is extensively applied.During the period ofevolvement of network, MSTP is a most important direction.With the extensiveapplication of Metro Ethernet Networks, MSTP must support much more Ethernetservice.one of the most important function of the MSTP device which this thesisresearch is to support Ethernet service.Link Aggregation can increase bandwidth and provide link redundancy by way ofputting several physical link together, it is an important technology for the applicationof MSTP in Ethernet. Link Aggregation Control Protocol is the main content ofIEEE802.3ad standard,it defines a standard Aggregation control mode.both sides ofAggregation exchange Information through LACPDUS, according to the parameter andstate of both sides, put the matching link together automatically to send and receive datapacket. When the aggregation has formed, LACP maintain aggregator Link state, itadjust or dismiss aggregation automatically when configuration of the two sides arechanged.This thesis based on the background of research and analysis of Link Aggregationand MSTP, it achive the static and dynamic Link Aggregation through realizing LinkAggregation Control Protocol. it also analyse the interaction of Link Aggregation andother software module detaily, and give the answer for these problem.finally, testing andanalysing the function and capability of Link Aggregation software module.MSTP have its characteristic, Link Aggregation technology is widely applied intraditional data communication.under the condition of SDH field combine with Ethernetfield, how do the traditional Ethernet technology appilyed in MSTP device? That is whythis thesis research the implement of Link Aggregation technology in MSTP.In ourMSTP device,Ethernet is over SDH, relative technologies are Vitual Concatenation, LCAS,GFP, etc.Traditional Link Aggregation technology is carried out on physical portsin data communication,but Link Aggregation on MSTP can carried out in system side.itset up physical channels through VCG, meaning that the channels state of VCG caninfluence Link Aggregation,and other protocol such as RSTP,GVRP may be influencedby Link Aggregation,these content will also be discuss and expatiated in this thesis.
