With the rapid growth of the Internet and communication services, user applications require higher link bandwidth and performance, Gigabit Ethernet has been unable to meet people’s demands for network link performance. At the same time, with the rapid development of data center and the rapid growth of data quantity, the storage and exchange of data in data center network is facing more and more problems, such as the integration of LAN and SAN networks and the upgrade of bandwidth. Along with the emergence of these problems, 10 Gigabit Ethernet technology with its excellent performance, gradually replaced the position of Gigabit Ethernet in the network, meantime the implementation of link aggregation technology can effectively solve the problem of bandwidth upgrade.On the link rate, 10 Gigabit Ethernet technology can achieve 10Gb/s rate and improve network interconnect bandwidth,but 10 Gigabit Ethernet technology is facing many problems, such as the integration of LAN and SAN networks, bandwidth upgrades and reliability assurance, etc. Without changing the existing equipment, the link aggregation technology can improve network bandwidth, but it should balance the flow of different links.For the problems we face in terms of network interconnection and data storage, this paper studies the 10 Gigabit Ethernet interface and link aggregation technology and tests the function and performance. First, this paper introduces the background, research significance and research status of 10 Gigabit Ethernet interface and link aggregation technology and compares the current difficulties and solutions of the research. Then this paper simply introduces the standard of 10 Gigabit Ethernet interface in IEEE 802.3ae protocol and introduces the data flow process of the RS and MAC layer in the FCBB6 protocol. According to the link aggregation protocol, this paper introduces the structure of the link aggregation sub layer, link aggregation mode and the algorithm of aggregate burden. Then this paper designs the physical layer supporting 10Gb/s rate, the RS layer which is used to maintain the status of the physical link and the MAC layer which is used to support the lossless transmission of SAN network traffic data. Next this paper completed the design and implementation of FPGA on the technology of link aggregation, it describes the functional block diagram of link aggregation technology and put forward different port selection methods to achieve the traffic equalization of the links in the link aggregation groups according to the design principles of the link aggregation. Next, this paper is designed to do a functional simulation work and verify the overall functional design of link aggregation technology on the modelism simulation platform. Finally, this paper introduce the test environment,test procedure and test result of the 10 Gigabit Ethernet interface connected with the CNA card equipment and other switches, meantime it tests the function and performance of the link aggregation technology.
