Today’s society, with the rapid growth of data business traffic and the continuous elevation of the network quality of service that user require, high availability has become one of the most important indicators to measure the high-performance network. Link aggregation technology can improve the high availability of the network by the transmission link backup, it has become one of the networking scheme must be used. Virtual switching technology which is the optimum solution for high-availability network security,can improve the high availability of the network by increasing the redundancy node and backup design of the network topology, The specific performance:multiple chassis-type distributed device are virtual as a virtual device, the upper and lower devices connect with virtual device by cross-device link aggregation, that not only provides redundant links, but achieves dynamic load balance, and makes full use of all the bandwidth. When one physical link fails, switch to another link time in milliseconds. so the high availability of the network can be improved by multi-link backup can improve. In addition, this network method do not need to configure MSTP, VRRP protocol, so it simplifies network configuration.Of course, virtual switching technology also has shortage, the link fails between two member devices in the virtual device,the virtual device split to form two virtual devices, Multi-Active phenomenon happens, the network is down. Therefore, how to quickly detect the Multi-Active and how to deal with Multi-Acitve Activation is extremely important for the development of virtual switching technology. Chassis-type distributed device manufacturers have been proposed Multi-Active detection methods and handling mechanism, Based on this, under the background of the the LACP protocol in the link aggregation technology and virtual switching technology,the article describes a Multi-Active detection and handling mechanism, the important work was mainly on software plane making design and implementation of Multi-Acitve detection module and handling module based on LACP. After the research and analysis of link aggregation technology and virtual switching technology, This thesis firstly analyzed the principle of Multi-Active detection method and handling mechanism, secondly has had the overall design for Multi-Active detection module and handling mechanism,then the implementation was carried by the development tools, and finally the feasibility of the design was tested and verified in experimental equipment.By the experimental test,when Multi-Active happens,Multi-Active detection module and handling module that be designed in this thesis can detect Multi-Active,and ensure the normal operation of the network.
