Compared with field tests, the technique of radar system simulation, which results in the combination of the digital simulation technique and the radar technique, has many advantages such as economical efficiency, flexibility, repeatability, inheritability and so on.Therefore,it has been a necessary condition in modern radar research and production.The main task of this dissertation is to model and simulate a monopulse radar system. In the end, we design a set of software platforms of a monopulse radar system, which would be a living,economical and convenient test platform for radar electronic warfare.Firstly, this dissertation studies the model of radar signal environment. This part mainly talks about the wave and spectrum of three radar signal, five swerling models of target fluctuation and their detecting performance, as well as the modeling and simulation of clutter. Secondly, it analyzes the radar antenna model. This part putts forward three simplified antenna pattern function, also it simulates the 2-D and 3-D sum-difference patterns.Thirdly, it introduces the radar receiver model. This part mostly discusses the structures of STC, AGC and coherent detector, also it gives a simulation means of receiver noise. Fourthly, it describes the radar signal processing model. This part chiefly researchs the buffer, the pulse compress and the GO-CFAR, then it discusses how to solve the error angle. Fifthly, it presents the radar data processing model. This part mainly talks about how to solve the ambiguity of distance and velocity. Finally, this dissertation simulates the monopulse radar software system that we designed and presents some testing reports.We mainly use Matlab6.5 to model and validate every module's functions. Then, we utilize Visual C++6.0 to design a software platform of the monopulse radar system.
