Along with the rapid development of the hospital information system (HIS ), the hospital has accumulated more and more data. It's essential for hospital informationization process to fully utilize these data, obtain valuable information from it, offer accurate decision-making support for management of the hospital. Therefore, one of the problems hospital informationization development facing is how to set up the hospital information warehouse, store and utilize these medical data effectively, and how to make it serve for the hospital management.This paper is in the discussion in-depth the technology of data warehouse, especially based on the On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP), summarizing through an analysis of complicated medical activity , puts forward a special , large-scale and unified storage sets suiting practical application of the hospital, sets up a hospital topic data warehouse based on multidimensional model, and organizes the data by analyzing the topic for the basic frame . During the process of setting up the data warehouse , it merges the thoughts of two kinds of design methods'from bottom to top'and'from top to bottom', develops and analyzes the topics with the multidimensional model, guarantees to implement quickly and obtains investment repayment rapidly. Then, on the basis of making actual effect , it increases the application topics gradually , advances step by step, accumulates experience, therefore it will build up an enterprise layer data warehouse progressively .The advantage of such multidimensional model is that query speed is quick, it is also rapid to make report forms; The shortcoming is that the course of modeling is comparatively slower because of a large amount of preconditioning existing. When business problem change occurs, and the original dimension can not satisfy requirement, a new dimension need to be increased. Aim at this characteristic, the paper have discussed the update of the dimension degree table after changes have occurred and how to construct fact aggregation table combining the daily maintenance and the data query demand of the data warehouse.The focal point of this paper is how to store the relational or ordinary data as...
