In today's business environment, market competition is becoming increasingly fierce, and it prompted enterprises and institutions in the construction of information systems not only need the support of business processes and the need to obtain from the customer information system, marketing, business performance to supply channels open or not high levels of decision-making information analysis, and the results will be applied to the daily decision-making to improve their overall operational effectiveness. However, the traditional operational system is designed to handle the affairs of separation is not good at multi-level analysis and statistics. Thus, business intelligence applications came into being, it is usually an independent system that can derive from the traditional operational system of customer data and operational data, thus creating a multi-level analysis system, and its transformation into a commercially meaningful information.Plan, design, develop and implement a business intelligence application is a very complex project. In many developed countries, the business intelligence applications have been successfully deployed in many cases, for example, Wal-Mart supermarket's "beer" and "diapers" is the one of stories of the many successful cases of the most classic ones. And the current internal business intelligence system building, mostly still in the statements and OLAP stage, the OLAP applications is very extensive.This article outlined the main contents of the data warehouse technology and on-line analytical processing technology to an application in the oil industry.This article outlined the data warehouse and OLAP principles. The adoption of the following principles introduced data warehouse technology: the basic concepts of data warehousing, data warehouse architecture, data warehouse software, a data warehouse system, data warehouse and database distinction. The adoption of the following principles introduced OLAP technology: the origin and OLAP concepts, the multidimensional OLAP structure, OLAP systemclassification, the distinction between OLAP and OLTP, the links and distinction between OLAP and data mining.Next article in response to the "oil production dynamics analysis system," explained the data warehouse and OLAP technology in the practical application of technology in the realization process.Data warehouse system design processes include the following: the data warehouse database DBMS models, design the overall structure of the data warehouse system, design the themes of data warehouse, the concept of model, logic model design, physical model design, ETL design.OLAP system design include the following: the selection of OLAP products, OLAP system architecture design, collection of needs, identify data sources, the establishment of multidimensional analysis model, deploy OLAP server, and publish multidimensional analysis models and statements.
