Multi Dsp Parallel Processing In The Obs System

As a technology which is feasible in current technical condition, OBS(Optical Burst Switching) combines advantages of many other optical switching technologies. For most researches about OBS are just theoretical ,full scheme and details about building system based on OBS technology are all not mature and there is no system which has implemented OBS technology practically yet. This paper is based on the 863 national project-"OBS experimental system" and study over the whole experiment system of OBS.In this paper, we give out the realization and implementation about the core node,and introduce the application of a new multi-DSP parallel processing architecture in OBS system core node.First of all, this paper gives a description about what is OBS technology.It analyzes the frame and modules in OBS experiment system. After this, a special technology is given in detail for the system processing, while analysis of required system parameters and the factors which effect those parameters are given briefly.Whereafter, this thesis introduce the familiar architectures for multi-DSP parallel processing ,and point out the principles of the new multi-DSP parallel processing architecture module design and the important role it play in OBS core node router.The details about hardware design,the schematic design and PCB design,are then expounded.After the description about hardware design ,some content about software design are presented,including an outline of FPGA logic design,main function of each logic module,and so on.Details about DSP software design are also described in next chapter.Some valuable problems ,which are summarized from debugging process and can be used for reference,are discussed subsequently.Because of the flexibility of the parallel processing architecture mentioned in the article,the hardware implementation can be used not only in OBS core router but also in somewhere that multi-DSP parallel processing algorithms need to be verified.
