The experiment of Chinese medium for years demonstrates that it is impossible for Chinese television to be industrialized as a whole, which violates the basic attribute of TV media as a tool of public communication. But Pay TV (PTV) which is the main topic among the media practice and academic areas nowadays is just a turning point of the industrialization of Chinese TV media, because PTV widely differs from cable TV among the areas of tasks, nature and function. Besides these, it breaks through the single profit-making mode of advertisement of Chinese TV medium, opens the administrative division, and meanwhile peels off the enterprise and industry part of Chinese TV as well. One of the biggest breakthroughs of the development of PTV over the past two years is the formation of an industrial roller chain which includes the channel supplier, integrated operator, transmitter, wired network provider, user and television industry. But at present, the chain is in a mess, in which accounting is fuzzy and the function disorderly overlaps among every platform of channel supplier, integrated operator and wired network provider.Starting with the difference of the operation mode between cable TV and PTV, this thesis explores few drawbacks of the industrial chain, and offers a few suggestions in terms of policy, each platform, and so on. This thesis also aims at carrying on a case study of Channel Dressy, by which the thesis collets the successful areas of its operation, design reason, programme production, etc. Meanwhile facing with the difficulties of the operation mode of Channel Dressy, the thesis demonstrates a few constructive ideas, by which it hopes that the marketing of PTV will become easier on the way of industrialization of Chinese TV medium.
