The backbone network and transmission networks are moving in the digital, high-speed, and the direction of broadband, the development also requires access network to the digitized, high-speed, and broadband-based. Optical fiber access is considered to be the best option but because of the tremendous input it is difficult to achieve in the short term. In the transition to optical fiber, using existing network facilities—users cables provide high-speed data transmission technology has been widely used. However the first-generation technology ADSL gradually discovered some insurmountable weaknesses. Under the pressure of the need of development of business , ADSL2 and ADSL2 plus technology have been produced .In July 2002 the ITU completed G.992.3 and G992.4, two new standards for ADSL technology collectively called ADSL2. In January 2003, G.992.5 officially joined the ADSL2 family as ADSL2plus.ADSL2 and ADSL2+ belong to the second generation of ADSL technology. ADSL2/ADSL2+ adds new features and functionality targeted at improving performance and interoperability,and adds support for new applications, services, and deployment scenarios.Among the changes are improvements in data rate and reach performance, rate adaptation, diagnostics, and stand-by mode. ADSL2/ADSL2+ future will be the mainstream market technologies. ADSL2 /ADSL2+ will be more user-friendly to subscribers and more profitable to carriers, and promises to continue the great success of ADSL though the rest of the decade.Regarding the telecommunication network is tested in the world ,this paper gives a theoretical analysis and actual certification of the technical performance of ADSL2/ADSL2+. The test result confirms theory analysis. In the end the cases of the use of the technologies ADSL2 / ADSL2+ are given.
