With the rapid development of Information Technology (IT), especially the universal application of Internet, broadband Access Networks (AN) become more and more prevalent. Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Loop (ADSL) is the technology that provides high-speed, asymmetric data access, synchronously the potential of Twisted Pair(TP) is utilized, and the Plain Old Telephone Service(POTS) is not interrupted. We study the theory of Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Loop (ADSL), important in Discrete Multi-Tone (DMT) modulation that is the usual international encoder in ADSL. In the same time, we study the model of transmitter and receiver. About the application of ADSL, We design and debug the of 32 line ADSL board for CO(Center Office) in this paper. In addition, about the process of practice in design the ADSL board, we solve the questions such as the initialization and connection of ADSL etc.The main works in the paper could be described as follow: Study the theory of ADSL and DMT, design and debug the high density 32 line ADSL board for CO. At present, the ADSL board has passed all strict tests. They run steadily in the lab and the telecommunication office of Shenzhen for test.
