Modern computer technology, digital imaging and communication technology accelerate the application and development of Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).An anal disease therapy instrument equipped with a fiber colonoscope which provides doctors with a number of useful anal and colonic images is a helpful instrument for diagnosing and treating the anal and colonic diseases. The intestinal images produced by fiber colonoscopes are important information for diagnosing colonic diseases. Affected by the inherent property of fiber endoscope, the image presents"honeycomb"pattern .That is"honeycomb"noise. The removal of this noise will provide doctors with clearer and more useful images.Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine (DICOM) is a standard to normalize the image instruments and the communication in PACS. It makes information resources produced by different medical instruments manufactured by different vendors shared. An anus and colon imaging system must transform the images and archives into DICOM format to communicate with PACS.This dissertation discusses the development of the anus and colon imaging system. My work includes:1. On the basis of outlining the structure, function and features of fiber colonscopes, the main function of generic image workstations, the defect of former product and the user's feedback information, we analyze the requirements of the anus and colon imaging system.2. According to the requirement analysis,we utilize the structured programming method to design this system and realize it.3. Starting from analyzing the form mechanism of"honeycomb"noise, we discuss eight different methods seriously to remove the noise on the basis of analyzing the foreign literatures. Comparing with the result of every method, we select the median filter which has higher efficiency and better effect finally.4. We discuss what tags this system needs on the basis of introducing the important DICOM concepts. And we can read and create DICOM format files.
