CWDM technology is a best solution for the access network of metropolitan transportation networks. It has many virtues, for instance high bandwidth, transparency to traffic and low cost. In allusion to the demand of self-recovery function of communication network system, this assay points out a self-recovery CWDM ring network system with OADM of invariable light-wave. This system can provide high performance with low cost, transparent transmission with lots of protocols and self-recovery. These virtues can satisfy some applications nowadays. Because of the potential problem of today's CWDM system ring network structure with high attenuation, this assay concludes with a simple analysis of the difference between the typical O-E-O 3R regeneration techniques and the all-optical 3R regeneration techniques, then points out a new 3R regeneration technique. Comparing to all-optical way, this technique can provide a low cost, transforming light-wave and exchanging optical information in circuit. Comparing to circuit clock data recovery, it can also eliminate the limit of rate and enhance its capability of transparent transmission due to insensitivity to code shape and rate. Therefore, this technique has a broaden application prospect.
