With the SoC design getting more and more complicated, the advanced software tools for SoC design are also become more and more important.On the base of research for SoC associated technologies, for example, IP design, FPGA verification, algorithm mapping and so on, with experiences in SoC implementation, this thesis introduces one SoC design flow, which can shorten the SoC design period through making SoC software and hardware design side by side possible.According to this design flow, the SoC software and hardware co-design platform which named VXP(Virtual Executable Platform) is designed. This platform uses virtual timeline model, behavior and architecture layer modeling are also been realized with timeline as well. This platform develops a suit of simulation class library through object oriented method. Furthermore, it provides a union user-interface to support users to finish SoC development—debugging, simulation, performance analysis and verification in it.This platform has been applied and got some good results. But the synthesizing and man-machine interface etc. should be investigated.
