Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) is a two-dimensional periodic structure which performs a filter operation. When used in radome, through appropriate adjustment of structure parameters of FSS, the incident energy can be fully transmitted at resonant frequency, and completely reflected out of working band. within working band the band-pass character will appear. Beginning with physical mechanism of FSS, this dissertation presents the transmission performance analysis technique of several specific shaped FSS arrays on the basis of equivalent-circuit method. Aimed at transmission performance of FSS radome, theoretical analysis has been carried out, which is mainly focused on the design of FSS element, method of etching FSS onto double curved radome. Experimental data is analyzed and discussed, in order to testify the efficiency and validity of etching FSS onto curved radome face.On the aspect of analysis of FSS, this paper mainly discusses physical significance of FSS;transmission performance of several specific shaped FSSs formulated in modeling expression by equivalent-circuit method;some numerical methods involved in the analysis of FSS. Furthermore, Geometrical Optics (GO) is used in the analysis of the characteristic of single and multiple layer dielectric. General analysis, including the modeling of curved radome, field analysis of the object point, is all done in this dissertation. Due to the error caused by different curvature, the divergence factor is introduced. The approach of etching flat FSS onto curved face of radome is analyzed.As for the design of the FSS analysis software, computation module which could analyze the transmission performance of several special types of FSS array is developed. Based on theoretical study, characteristic of plane wave transmitting through dielectric is analyzed and the program is compiled. The simulation about multiple layer dielectric, with the incidence of single mode, is carried out under HFSS condition.
