Radome is an important part on modern aircraft. It protects the antenna inside from the influence of the environment, meanwhile affects the radiation and the circuit characteristic of the antenna. Analysis on the radome should come before the design of it, which should minimize the influence on the antenna. Combined with the radome design on some type cabin, this paper uses Physical optics to analyze the radiation characteristic of the antenna-radome system, program to calculate the radiation pattern. From the view of antenna circuit point, this paper adopts the finite difference time domain to analyze the impact on the center frequency and the bandwidth, which introduces by the radome. This paper introduces the HFSS to simulate the characteristic of the dipole antenna in the cylinder medium radome. Towards to the design assignment, this paper let the transmission coefficient be the aim function, uses the random search arithmetic transferred by the penalized function and gives the radome design example. The radome sample based on the design parameter is tested and satisfied the request.Considered to reduce the antenna RCS at present, people always place Frequency selective surface on the radome. In this paper, we use the spectral domain Galerkin method to analyze the FSS frequency characteristic. We also give the Green function of the composite structure composed by the FSS and multiplayer, which is analyzed through the transmission line theory. On the basis of the method, we calculate the frequency characteristic of the FSS loading on medium. In the end, we introduce the design process of the FSS radome.
