In the thesis, to slove radome engineering design problems, analysis software for multilayer dielectric slab radome is developed by using the equivalent transmission line theory. Combined with the design of array antenna radome, the problem of phase unconsistency is studied. On the other hand,the design of A-sandwich radome with variable core thickness is introducd, and the advantages in transmission efficiency and insertion phase delay(IPD) are proved by using the Physical Optics(PO). The author's main work is summarized as follows:(1) Based on the equivalent transmission line theory, the calculation method of multilayer dielectric slab radome is derived. The effects on A-sandwich radome transmission efficiency of skin thickness, core thickness and incidence angles are analysed. On this basis, the performance of C-sandwich radome with different middle skin is studied, and the broadband performance of A-sandwich radome and C-sandwich radome is contrasted. Finally, analysis software for A-sandwich radome and C-sandwich radome is developed.(2) The testing method and technology of slab radome are summarized. According to the specific radome design task, the high transmission efficiency slab radome and the broadband slab radome are designed. The validity of design method is proved by testing of slab radome. In addition, the effects on transmission efficiency of different paints are studied.(3) The principles of the interferometer direction finder are introduced, and the phase unconsistency is presented to measure the effects of radome on array antenna direction finding. Through the testing, the positive correlation between the direction finding error of array antenna with radome and the phase unconsistency is proved, which shows that the method of measuring radome performance by using phase unconsistency is effective.(4) In condition of maximum transmission efficiency, the varieties of the best wall thickness in half wavelength radome and the best core thickness in A-sandwich with the incidence angles are analysed. On this basis, the method to improve transmission efficiency by using variable core thickness is presented, and the design method of A-sandwich radome with variable core thickness is introducd. Finally, the advantages in transmission efficiency and insertion phase delay(IPD) are proved by using the Physical Optics(PO).
