Experiments, as the bridge between theory study and the reality, are always very important in modern education. Being the core part of long-distance education, online experiment is becoming the kind of concerned projects to which many countries are paying much more attention. To establish an online lab and share the experiment resources via Internet can enlarge the education scope. People can teach and learn "anytime and anywhere" without the limitation of time and space. Furthermore, the abundant content of experiments provided changes the students' learning modes from passively recording data to actively sourcing information.Along with the development of modem education, distance education through network has been developed and popularized rapidly, in which experimental education is a weak point. So, an important task faced us and needed to solve urgently is to construct a new mode of virtual laboratory environment in the Internet, which is untraditional and not limited to the region and time.Our era is a time of the rapid development in the fields of computer, network communication, measurement and control. Because the technology of computer network and Internet have got great progress, the limit of traditional communication way in space and time is broken. It is very easy to exchange information in large scope. With the help of the technology of network communication and multimedia, distance education can make full use of all kinds of education resources and share them. In the field of experiment teaching, it is a more challenging topic to make distance experiment teaching on the network.In net experiments, we connect instruments with computers, and on the client computers, we simulate the instruments' surface andoperation with the help of software. An operator uses a mouse to control the distance instruments. Then he can observes and records the test results.In order to build the measurement lab on web, in the thesis, his thesis summarizes the development of remote laboratory. It includes six parts. First part the state of study on domestic and international remote laboratory has been reviewed, meanwhile introduces development background and meaning in the network laboratory. Second part introduces the development environment in the remote laboratory, namely VI and LabVIEW, introducing their advantage and characteristic of programming. Part 3 gives the concept of Virtual Reality and remote laboratory, and the frame of remote laboratory also. The fourth part provides the structure in the remote laboratory to be structured, including client, control and serve, then the experiment operates procedure is given. It is during the process of researching and developing remote laboratory, we developed some virtual experiments and fault wave recording on EHV line. Finally, we draw the conclusion that the remote laboratory should be widely used and developed in the future.
