High frequency lab is the necessary institutional of experimental course in engineering colleges. It has some shortcomings, including a variety of apparatus, high cost, single use, etc. Virtual instrument can solve that difficult position and be beneficial to improve the whole educational condition and teaching level. Usually virtual instrument system is made up of data acquisition, data analysis and output display. Except some part of data acquisition is completed by hardware, the others are all realized by software. So the paper describes the design and realization of the high-frequency virtual lab instruments from hardware and software, using the DAQ PC—6251 of the NI company as the hardware, and graphic program language LabVIEW as the development software.Based on the analysis and research of virtual instrument, the virtual instruments developing environment—LabVIEW and virtual instrument hardware systems , virtual high frequency amplifier, virtual AM and demodulation, virtual FM and frequency detection, virtual PM and phase detection are designed and simulated with the new programming idea and method under LabVIEW in this paperAlso in this paper ,virtual signal generation, virtual oscilloscope, virtual spectrum analyzer are.designed with labview, which can realize signal generation, data acquisition, data processing, data reading and storing, waveform display, and so on.Combining with virtual instrument scientific design, the problems are summarized and solutions are pointed out at last. The basic construction of the high-frequency virtual lab instruments are realiseed in this paper ,which is the useful supplement to laboratory teaching and could greatly improve the flexibility and adaptability of laboratory teaching.
