In the recent years, infrared imaging system developed rapidly both in military and commercial field. Uncooled infrared imaging system takes an important position in the development of infrared imaging system because it has advantage in low price, high reliability and low power consumption. Based on the research in theory of uncooled infrared imaging system and infrared image processing algorithm, in this article we design and develop a uncooled infrared imaging system which has the function of real time image processing, and the system meet the rough design goal.In the first part of this article, we introduce the development, current situation and application of the infrared imaging technology and the research background and tasks of this article. The main target of the second part is to study the theory of the infrared imaging system, which include infrared image characteristic and infrared focal plane array imaging theory. We put forward infrared imaging algorithm including infrared nonuniformity correction and image quality enhancement, which is based on the theory studied hereinbefore. In the third part of the article, we designed the hardware of uncooled infrared imaging system to meet the goal of image algorithm, which include AD data acquire module, image processing module and video synthesize module. To insure the quality of image, we take the signal integrity analyze into PCB design consideration. The main research content of the fourth part is to achieve real time image processing with FPGA, including nonuniformity correction and image quality enhancement algorithm, taking the advantage of the strong data processing ability and the easy-to-use characteristic of FPGA.Now the image processing system has already run correctly, which can output the processed image to the monitor, which meet the design goal.
