The infrared imaging system plays an important action in military filed and civilian field. Depending on these advantages of lower cost, higher dependability, smaller bulk and lower power, the uncooled infrared staring imaging system holds important position in infrared imaging fields. It promotes the utilization of infrared system greatly in all fields and it is one of the focuses of current development in the field of infrared imaging system. The title of this paper is Research on Uncooled Infrared Staring Imaging System. It details the development, status and application of infrared imaging technique. The development of drive circuit and Thermo Electric Cooled (TEC) circuit is introduced in details, and the long term temperature stability of the TEC achieves to 0.01℃. The Filed Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) of Altera Company is used as hardware computing platform to generate the driving sequencer of the infrared focal plane arrays and complete the two point real time nonuniformity correction. The firmware of Universal Serial Bus (USB) controller 68013 of Cypress Company is programmed in order to transfer the real time uncorrected or corrected infrared image data to computer by USB 2.0 interface. Infrared analog signals are sampled by AD9244 that is a high speed and parallel Analog to Digital sampling chip. The D/A video conversion circuit are designed to achieve the real time display of infrared image. In addition, the system design and debug experiences are summarized and analyzed in detail.
