As the advance of the circuit scale and the signal speed, computational speed and stability of circuit simulation methods are to be of higher requirement. The error of the traditional time-marching method accumulates as the simulation time increases. The method suffers from the difficulty in effectively handling the singularity, which often develops in high-speed circuits, and the problem of nonuniform error distribution. As the wavelet technology has been quickly developed, the Fast Wavelet Collocation Method (FWCM) has been brought forward. The FWCM is extremely powerful in treating singularity, provides a uniform error distribution in time domain and has a fourth-order convergence rate. Given these merits of FWCM, we achieve the adaptive techniques in this paper and simulate linear and nonlinear dynamic circuits and stiff system with FWCM. We also apply FWCM to simulating interconnection lines in VLSI. In time domain, we propose a wavelet model for RLGC interconnection line based on FWCM. The model has universal applicability and linear computational complexity. In frequency domain, we use Frequenvy Fast Wavelet Collocation Method (FFWCM) with Numerical Inverse Laplace Transform (NILT) to handle interconnection lines. Many experiments simulated with Matlab show that FWCM for circuit simulation has high accuracy and efficiency and error is controllable in both time and frequency domains. FWCM is a new powerful circuit simulation way and worthy of researching.
