Phased array radar scan the corresponding airspace by the demanding beam shape and direction, which is steered by the distribution of the aperture amplitude and phase of the array antennas controled by the beam steering system.As result of many reasons(such as degradation or defective of the components,EMI),however,the random amplitude and phase error will be introduced to the excitation current of the elements of the array antennas, and so we must monitor the real time status of the elements of the array antennas .It holds many prominent virtues compared with the conventional radar scaning with mechanism servo,however, phased-array radar also has its weakness,such as great volume, costliness, intensive EMI and crowded cable. Based on the above problems, some corresponding studies are presented in this dissertation as follows:1. This dissertation introduces the basic theory of the scaning of antennas of the phased-array radar and the primary traits of the linear array antennas based on the structure of the phased-array radar.2. A few schemes of beam steering system are presented and the key traits of every scheme are analyzed based on the elementary theory of beam steering system,and the schemes of the optical transmission of the beam steering system are introduced in this dissertation.3. A digital optical transmitter ,a key component of the transmission system of beam steering and monitoring signal of elements, is desiged in this dissertation according to the elementary requirements of this project,and is debuged and tested ,the performance of the digital optical transmitter reaches the basic requirement.4. The cause of the error of the amplitude and phase of the elements are analysed ,and a few monitoring methods and a monitoring technique for elements of array antennas are introduced in this dissertation,which is simulated on the computer simultaneously.
