As a typical high-technology industry , the large screen projection display, which merges micro-electronics, liquid crystal, optics and mechanism into a whole, has grown rapidly over the past few years. Firstly , the background of the projection is introduced, and the conclusion can be drawn that projection is the cheapest way to realize large screen display. Projection display includes three distinct technologies:CRT , DLP and LCD.In the second chapter, the principle and the application of projection display technologies are expatiated. Firstly, the chapter analyzes the traditional projection display technologies with the principle and the structure , and emphasizes the liquid crystal projection display technology . With comparing the single panel LCD projection display technology and the three panels LCD projection display technology in cost, maintainability, assemblage and the display performance, the conclusion can be drawn that the single panel LCD projection display technology has the larger market foreground than the three panels LCD projection display technology. After the comparison and the analysis, we design the new single panel LCD projection display technology by ourselves,and carry out the hardware design proposal. This paper investigates the realization of the hardware design proposal based on FPGA devices and optimizes its hardware structure to utilize all kinds of resource in FPGA device more effectively. The design of system's hardware test platform is also presented for verification of its feasibility, and related test plans are introduced too.
