High-speed Data Generator Data Editing And Programmed Software Design

Data generator is an important test instrument in the field of data-domain test. It generates parallel and serial digital data with programmable data graphics and outputs arbitrary digital waves with adjustable voltage and data rate. By simulating various test signals of digital system, the generator can improve the capability of testment processing, speed up the system's development cycle, shorten system integration duration and improve the quality of the system. The data generator is an important facility for modern electronic system's development and test. With combination of the project High-Speed Data Generator ES4561, taken on by UESTC, this dissertation studies the system level software design for the generator. The first chapter presents the trend of data generator in brief. Based on the analysis of software requirement, the second chapter gives an introduction of the software's frame structure and general design of the user interface.The basic working process of the generator is also introduced in this chapter. Several display modes offered by this software and ways to edit the data and relevant design details are specified in the third chapter. The fourth chapter introduces the setting of parameter and data output methods. The transmission ways of remote control message through three kinds of interfaces GPIB, RS232 and LAN respectively and the processing flow of SCPI command are introduced in the fifth chapter. In the last chapter, some test results of the system software are given. Now the Project ES4561 has successfully passed the final test held by the project sponsor and all the specs meet the requirements of the design.
