The data generator can generate multi-channel serial digital signals, whose rate andlevel are adjustable. With the development of digital technology, the data generator, as ageneral test signal source, plays an important role in test of large-scale electronicdevices and scientific research. In recent years, the Internet entering every corner of theworld, and it promotes application of remote network control system in the field of thetest instrument. With the help of the remote control system of data generator, people canavoid presenting themselves at some testing places, where are polluted or dangerous,and it also expands the range of application for data generator.The advancements of the data generator depend mainly on the frequency of thedata flow, data accuracy and programmable ability. Even with high frequency precision,the data generator can also maximize the programmable ability and provides thediversification of programmable signals, and it can meet the needs of development ofhigh-performance equipment. So the data editor is the core of the data generatorsoftware design system.Considering above issues, in this dissertation, we studied the local control softwareand the remote software of the data generator based on analysis of the data generatorprinciple. We focused on the data editing software, i.e. how does it produce a variety ofhigh precision digital signals that meet specific requirements. The main contributions isas following:1. Based on the Windows platform, a1.1Gbps DG application softwaredevelopment process is elaborated, and the overall software framework of1.1Gbps datagenerator is put forward. Based on the introduced hardware and software developmentplatform, we designed a local control software and remote network control software forthe data generator;2. On the Windows platform, we developed a local control software using modules.The function and design techniques of each module are detailed. By recording operatingmode, a novel approach for fast data storage is put forward. The proposed approach canimprove the efficiency of the software; 3. The operation flow of data editing and the design method of data editingsoftware are discussed respectively. The designed software can meet the requirement oflarge capacity and programmable ability in the test field;4. Based on the local control software, a remote control software is developed onthe Windows platform. And the basic SPC operation process is also elaborated. Finally,a programmed control of large capacity data transmission scheme is proposed.
