As a high-speed signal source for general test, Pulse/Data Generator can generate dual-channel outputs of 3 types: pulse,burst and pattern. Pulse signal of continually adjustable parameters and high-capacity data signal have satisfied the demand for noise margin test of digital instruments, as well as the excitation signals required during the initial designs of VLSI and RF system. With the rapid development of Internet, the concept of remote-control, which brings much more flexibility and adaptability than field operations, is gradually spread into the area of measuring instruments. Pulse/Data Generator combined with network control offers relief for the space limitation of traditional instruments.The software design in this paper is based on two platforms: WinCE 5.0 for local control, and remote-control builded on cross-platform, WinCE & Windows. The main work can be summarized as follows:(1)Illustrate the hardware platform of Pulse/Pattern Generator, the overall framework of software based on WinCE,and the program of local&remote control software.(2)Develop and optimize the embedded user interface(UI).Meanwhile under WinCE,dynamic link library(DLL) is adopted to package the functions used to drive the underlying hardware.(3)Design the UI of remote control system with code implementation and test.(4)Discuss a new solution of high-capacity data transmission based on WinCE, and establish a communication network between Pulse/Data Generator and primary console.The Pulse/Data Generator based on the design software has been tested, and is working with expected goal currently.
