Internet-based Dynamic Network Resource Management - Network Fault Management

The rapid development and various applications of network technology bring the problem of enormous transportation and complexity in network systems. In order to gain the maximum utility of the network, we designed and implemented the Dynamic Network Management System Based on Internet.The author has participated in the work of Network Fault Management, and the thesis discusses the design and implementation of subsystems such as Network Fault Monitoring , the fault treatment and the fault alarm . The primary works are as followings.1. The thesis introduces and implements the appropriate analysis methods according to the specific kind of network failures, which highly improves the efficiency of handling network faults. The system also has such a good compatibility that it can analyze the network faults of various kinds of manufacturers' equipments. And the improvement of the PATRICIA algorithm greatly enhances the efficiency of analysis. In addition, in order to improve the quality of Network Fault Management the system adopts correlation analysis to decrease the quantity of alerts.2. This thesis presents the method of dealing with network faults based on policy which makes our system more intelligent. By applying the knowledge of policy into Network Fault Management, the system can handle the accidents in network system automatically.3. This system provides two methods to inform users: by E-mail and by GUI. The method of E-mail enables users to do supervision on a specific device. While GUI presents all faults on devices to users if there isn't any custom setting.4. The applying of the object pool to manage the socket objects and the requested objects significantly improves the efficiency of usingresources, and reduces the wasting of CPU time as waiting for resources.
