In recent years, with the continuously increased requirement of multiple transporting services such as IP data, speech data and so on, it makes the network Broad Band technology prevalence very quickly. At the same time, it promotes the backbone network's instruction in a large scale. Because the enormous changes have taken place in the conveyance environment of the service, original Local Area Network whose main purpose is to burden speech data is already unable to satisfy the request of the service transport and assemble at capacity and interface ability. On one hand, with the rapid development of the Ethernet network, the inter-connection based on Local Area Network and narrow bandwidth has already been far from meeting the current demand. It has already been an inexorable trend that Ethernet network is developed toward large capacity and broad bandwidth. On the other hand, the development of Ethernet network is redistricted because of the transmitted backbone network is based on SDH(Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) technology all the time. Between the protecting of existing resources and real business demand, EOS(Ethernet Over SDH) service arises at the historic moment, and rapidly it becomes the focus of multiple services access network field at present. In many service Transport platform, they integrate EOS function, it makes EOS form MSTP (Multi-Service Transport Platform ) equipment become key equipment in the land net of the city correspondingly . It is served as bridge in SDH backbone network and Ethernet, at the same time it is the core that the network merges realizing equipment. This page firstly introduced three pieces of key technology realizing EOS in MSTP equipment: Switch of two layers, MPLS(Multi-Protocol Label Switch), RPR(Resilient Packet Ring) in detail. Finally it provides the detailed design plan of MSTP equipment, including how the system is built up, the hardware-realizing scheme and software model. The three pieces of key technology in EOS business, is the hot technology in the present network field. The starting point of technology lies in solving the problems existed under present network structure. For example the data transmission efficiency, network service quality QoS (Quality of Service), unreasonable network structure.
