Data Generator can generate very complicated digital signals. It can be usedas various programmable data signal source in the fields of communication, radar,navigation, space navigation, and so on.The work of this dissertation comes from the project High Speed DataGenerator, which is taken on by the University of Electronic Science andTechnology of China. The dissertation focuses on the subject of the systemhardware design of High Speed Data Generator. The design and realization of theclock unit, the data pattern generation unit and the trigger unit of the systemhardware are discussed in detail in the dissertation.The first chapter of the dissertation introduces the total hardware structure ofHigh Speed Data Generator and its basic principle.In the design and realization of data pattern generation unit, the data patterngeneration unit is first divided into some sub-modules according to their function.Then the design methods and the principle of the modules are discussed.In the design and realization of the clock unit, the frequency synthesismethods are discussed and several present mainstream methods are introduced atthe beginning of this chapter. Associated with the requirements of the project, thefinal design scheme of clock unit is established and the prime principle of DDStechnique adopted in the design is introduced simply. Finally, the detailed designof clock in theree different frequency ranges is described.Based on the framework of trigger unit, the function of each sub-module oftrigger unit is discussed in detail in the chapter of design and realization of thetrigger unit. And then, the implementation of trigger function of High Speed DataGenerator is described.Some problems relating to the design of PCB are addressed first in thechapter of design and debugging of PCB. In the same time, the detailed debuggingprocess of circuit is brought forward. Then some main problems and their causesduring the debugging are listed and analyzed. And some feasible solutions areoffered as well.The performance specification testing method is given in the last chapter.Some final testing results are presented in the end.
