Nowadays with the booming development of microelectronic technique, the functions of the components of machinery, electricity, magnetism, optics, acoustics and thermotics have been improved rapidly. And the micromation of components, the integration of electronic equipments, the worse working environment, the increasing requirement and EMI, all of these make the structural design of electronic equipments more and more important.Today' s war can not go without advanced electronic equipments. And only those which have the capability of countering rough environment have vitality. To meet the requirement of function and environment, the structural design of military electronic equipments is not only mechanical mounting, but also an important measure to improve the reliability and maintainability of the military electronic equipments.This paper first introduces the concept of the structural design of electronic equipments. And it discusses the particularity of the structural design of military electronic equipments in detail and describes the development and the tendency of CAD.Because of the complexity and the synthesis of structural design of military electronic equipments, repetitive decision process is needed. So we use an interactive method which means "design-evaluate-redesign". That is: give an initial design, then evaluate whether it meet the requirement; if not, modify it till we get a perfect one. Because there may be a few programs which meet the requirement, the system can chose the best one according to a guideline, or the designer make the decision.Using CAD technique, the author developed airborne, shipborne and trunk-mounted structural designing templates, created structural designing data base of airborne, shipborne and trunk-mounted electronic equipments and realized the parameterizing modular design. The typical experiment of a project indicated that the CAD structural designing system is practical and it has been playing an important role in the structural design in the project.In the end of this paper, the author offer proposals of the deficiency and the improvement of the CAD structural designing system.
