With the popularity and usage of the CompactPCI bus in our country, more and more corporations begin to design and develop the production based on the cPCI bus. There are some special interface chips of PCI in market. With the quickly development of Field Programmable Gate Array, FPGA with more than million logic gates has been used. Similar to the special PCI chip, every manufacturer provide PCI core. Designer can synthesize the PCI CORE and the user's logic into an FPGA chip, and can do simulation analysis to test the PCI CORE and the user's logic. This technique can increase the design and debugging time, develop the capability of the system.Through comparing several PCI design solution, this paper modify the old design using the new method in order to improve design's cost performance and increase its market competitiveness. The following two aspects are achieved in the study. This design uses the solution of FPGA and PCI CORE instead of regular cPCI interface chip. This paper introduces one easy but efficient design method of PCI interface through using PCI CORE. This paper introduces the principle, structure and the timing of the target PCI core of the XILINX Inc. Also introduces the flow of FPGA design and some key points which must be paid attention to in the design.Another aspect is to design and develop a high speed AD data acquisition card. This paper introduces the design flow of the card development in detail, including the selection of the chip, writing the user's logic, design the schematics and PCB, writing the driver of the card. After working hard those days, I resolve the problem of the interface between PCI core and user's logic, and successfully design a data acquisition card.
