As a part of the Pre-research of National Defense project - SoC Application in Next Generation of Airplane, the work in this dissertation is to use the certain standard on-chip bus to design a System on Chip (SoC), in which a 32-bit embedded microprocessor is a host. The IP cores used in this system include an Integer Processor core compatible with the Intelx86 integer instruction set and an Floating-point Processor core compatible with the Intelx86 floating-point instruction set, which are developed by ourselves. Moreover, there are an on-chip ROM and the interface connecting the exterior of SoC in this system. The interfaces of these IP cores don't accord with any popular standard on-chip bus, so the author would design standard interfaces for these IP cores. The major work and productions are summarized as below:AMBA ASB and AMBA AHB standards are studied, and all kinds of transfer types are analyzed. On the base of the existing IP cores, the relevant master interfaces and slave interfaces according with those on-chip bus standards are designed, and the transfer types of the on-chip bus standards by the needs are realized. The function of control units is analyzed, and a design scheme is put forward and realized.A bridge connecting the ASB system and AHB system is put forward and implemented, which includes two parts:AHB_ASB bridge, which is used to switch the transfers from AHB master to ASB slave.ASB_AHB bridge, which is used to switch the transfers from ASB master to AHB slave. The simulation environment is developed. An FPGA test board which can communicate with a computer through Intel 8251A and the supported software are designed, so that the work of FPGA can be monitored on computer terminals. This dissertation has contributed to designing SoC using standard on-chip buses, and realized the bus system of ASB and AHB, which is convenient for adding new cores in function development. Furthermore, the design of bridge also has provided a good solution to transfer data between two on-chip bus systems conveniently.
