This dissertation represents the design and hardware implementation of a test system of the central control component in a military development project with PCI technology.The central control component or the controller is the core and heart of an aircraft, and the test system we developed is used to test and verify the controller. So it is extremely important. When in test mode, the test system sends a series of stimulus to the controller under the control of a computer, and also samples its outputs which will be sent to the computer. The computer can judge the correctness of the controller by comparing the sent data and the received data of the test system.Firstly, the composition and principles of the test system are introduced in this thesis, and the PCI extension boards and their functions are confirmed. This thesis describes a detailed developing process of PCI interface implementation. In this process, some key technology and methods are adopted in the dissertation, for example, Top-Down methods, FPGA&CPLD technology. In addition, some prevalent EDA tools such as MAX+Plus II, Active-HDL, Protel and so on, are also mentioned in this paper.Secondly, the dissertation describes the design and implementation of PCI extension boards in the test system in detail. In this part, the paper explains the composition, functions, internal design and simulation of each PCI board. According to the resource requirements of PCI extension boards, some specific device is selected, and so the fitting and configuration of the selected device can be carried through. In the end, the debugging methods and the design results are provided in the thesis.Lastly, some disadvantages and improvements of the test system are summarized in the article.At the present time, the test system has been in operation for quite a time, and praise of the reliable qualities can be heard. In a word, the test system we developed is of great value.
