With the development of web technology, the security management of product data management system does not meet the requirements of the enterprises more and more. According to the shortcomings of the traditional PDM security management, this paper establishes a workspace-based authorization management model and a DPDM network security model. Workspace-based authorization management model introduces workspace concept, which founds a connection between users and authorization to implement system. The mixed access control of this model that combines mandatory access control with discretionary access control is described in detail. Then the network security model is described in this paper from two aspects: data security and procedure security, which ensures network security.Data backup and operating documents are important functions of PDM. Backup and tool design modules of PDM are designed and implemented in this paper. Backup module introduces business concept, which describes the relativity among data. Tool design module is designed by the thinking of grading and multi-users' concurrent operation and is implemented by the workflow based on sharing files.
