A Study Of Data Security In Product Data Management System

According to the requirement of medium and small enterprises to the product data management, based on an extensive study on commercial PDM systems using Windows platform, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and Microsoft and Visual C++6.0 . a security scheme for a PDM system was developed. The PDM system is a Client/Server system and can support concurrent engineering.The author analysed the current security requirement of enterprise information, and explained various kinds of security risks in the present situation. In accordance with the requirements needed by the security management of electronic documents, The author propose a number of security measures and apply them in the product data management (PDM) system.This thesis start with a description of several kinds of the key technologies of security protection, including, the technology and the theory of identity authentication which bases on RSA and authentication model of PKI ;the theory and arithmetic of digital signature; the theory and several models of access control. It then describes a design scheme of PDM security protection which is based on the key technologies. After analyzing the security requirement of the medium and small enterprises, The author concluded that the key areas are authentication and access control, and presented system using these technologies. The login system emphasizes on the arithmetic, so the interface seems simple, but the realization of arithmetic is complex. The access right control management emphasizes on the design of model, the arithmetic is simple and interface is complicated. The integration of the research results in the PDM system improves the security of electronic documents.
