Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR)is a kind of coherent pulse radar which appeared in 1950. It can improve space resolution by fully using the signals' coherence. Since 1980s,using electronic computer to process digital signal imaging has become more and more popular. With the appearance of high performance digital signal processor(DSP)and the development of high speed real time signal processing techniques, its superiority and reality is generally accepted .More and more system designers become to use DSP . They mainly work hard at softwares to accomplish special processing systems. The imaging quality has become better and better and now the range and cross-range resolution can be very high.This thesis mainly studies the digital pulse compression technique and analyses the pulse compression performance of LFM signal with high compression ration. It also simply describes the basic theories of SAR imaging and signal processing .Based on these theories and high performance digital signal processing chip ADSP21160 ,we successfully design and realize a frequency domain digital pulse compression system on HHPC board with four ADSP21160 embedded. We also test the main performances and analyse real time performance of the system .The results are all satisfactory. The main content and work of the thesis includes:1. Study the pulse compression performance in range imaging,simulate the pulse compression processing of LFM signals and realize it on HHPC. 2. Analyse LFM signal compression performance with high compression ratio,program the correlative test software,compare the pulse compression performance with various window-functions and get the satisfied results.3. Program the interface of pulse compression control and waveform display in VC++ 6.0 language.4. Discuss the SAR imaging theories and SAR echo signal processing , simulate the single-point target echo and multi point target echo imaging in software method,realize the parallel processing algorithm of bearing pulse compression on HHPC and also study its real time performance.
