This dissertation mainly studies the digital pulse compression technique in frequency domain, which possesses the remarkable advantages in pulse compression processing. Performances of many pulse compression signals are analyzed in frequency domain. And the methods to design kinds of range sidelobe suppression filters (SSF) are proposed. Based on the theoretic analysis and computer simulations, a multi-waveform pulse compression system in is successfully exploited on HHPC board, which is applicable to complete pulse compression processing of LFM,NLFM waveforms and PHC signals. The designed bandwidth of signals reaches 5MHz and pulse compression ratios are from 13.5 to 210. The experimental results demonstrate that the specification characteristics meet the requirements of practical radar systems. And the results are satisfactory.The main content and creative work of the thesis includes:1) The characteristics of various pulse compression signals is comprehensively investigated in frequency domain. As example, computer simulations and experiment results of LFM signals with 13.5~210 pulse compression ratios processed by the SSF are given. For LFM and NLFM signal, when fd= 0kHz, 20kHz, 40kHz, RMS≥36dB. For PHC signal,when fd=0kHz,10kHz, RMS≥32dB. There is About 3dB`s descend with real compression system.2) Develops and optimizes a set of radix-2 and radix-4 pulse compression (includes FFT, match, IFFT, square) algorithm. Comprehensively investigates the parallel hardware structure and software algorithm based on HHPC and compares the efficiency of different algorithm. Brings forward an efficient algorithm and meets the tusk satisfactorily.3) Cooperates with the other man to design and realize a multi-waveform pulse compression system in frequency domain based on HHPC board, which is applicable to complete pulse compression processing of linear frequency modulation, nonlinear frequency modulation waveforms and phase coded signals.
