VXIbus means "VMEbus extension for Instrumentation" which is a kind of modularized automatic testing instrumentation system controlled by a host computer. The "VXIbus Synchronous Data Acquisition Module" presented in this dissertation supports real-time synchronous acquisition,storage and processing of the multi-channel inputs.This module is based on the VVP(VXI Versatile Plug-in)internal high-speed instrumentation bus platform,and mainboard-functional module is its configuration. "VXIbus Synchronous Data Acquisition Module" can work in either single-module mode or multi-module mode,which makes combination between modules and multi-rate sample possible. The functional module and the mainboard compose an automatic measurement instrumentation with real-time data acquisition and processing function.This module involves two multi-channel ADC and the sample clock is shared between these ADC so as to synchronization. In the multi-module mode both trig signal and reference clock are used for synchronization. The functional module supports DMA with the DSP,which frees the DSP's core processor and entitles the real-time digital signal processing. Through "host direct boot" the monitor program and subroutine can be added or substituted during running.The interface and all digital logics are integrated into two CPLDs on the module. This simplifies the circuit and enhances its reliability. The CPLDs are design with Verilog HDL,and a lot of modeling and simulation are done. Both function and timing are tested repeatedly to guarantee the correction of design. In the PCS design the anti-interference and signal integrity of high-speed mixed-signal circuit are taken into consideration. Some EDA software are used here to simulate the circuit before and after the place & route. All of these make the design correct in the first time.At the end of this dissertation the real tested results are presented. The conclusion and prospect of the whole system are given.
